Testimony resumes in Jackson doctor’s trial

An emergency room physician has told jurors hearing the involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor that the physician never mentioned giving the singer a powerful anesthetic.

Dr. Richelle Cooper resumed testifying Monday in Los Angeles as the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray enters its second week.

She said Murray told her he’d given Jackson the sedative lorazepam but didn’t mention the anesthetic propofol.

Authorities contend Murray gave Jackson a fatal dose of propofol and other sedatives.

Cooper was on duty at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center the day Jackson died. She has testified she gave paramedics permission to pronounce the singer dead at his rented mansion, but he was brought to the hospital because Murray wanted resuscitation efforts to continue.

Former Motorhead Guitarist Michael ‘Wurzel’ Burston Dead at 61

Michael “Würzel” Burston, a longtime guitarist for the legendary speed metal band Motörhead, passed away on July 9th at the age of 61. Cause of death has been listed as ventricular fibrillation triggered by cardiomyopathy. Würzel served as a guitarist for Motörhead for over 11 years before leaving in 1995, giving a decade of stability and countless riffs to a band that has seen no shortage of lineup changes. Motörhead dedicated their performance at last night’s Sonisphere festival to their fallen comrade, as frontman Lemmy Kilmister told the crowd, “We’d like to dedicate this set and our lives to Würzel.”
